Dr. Xiaodi

Dr. Xiaodi Han ¨C Director of Neurosurgery Department at Tiantan Puhua Hospital

Dr. Han Xiaodi is Director of the Nuerolosurgery Department at Tiantan Puhua Hospital, and is renowned worldwide for being one of the leaders in performing successful stem cell surgeries and therapies for patients suffering from a number of neurological disorders.  His work has directly assisted scores of patients to improve their quality of life in ways unmatched by Western countries.  His past research has focused on clinical management of brain tumors and cerebral aneurysms, chemotherapy of malignant gliomas, the application of neuronavigation systems during operations, and using neural stem cells in the treatment of neurodegeneration diseases and trauma patients.  He has received awards as the Chinese National Science and Technology prize winner for his work on surgical treatment of giant cerebral aneurysms and also won the Beijing Science and Technology Prize for his publications on minimal invasive neurosurgery.

Previous to coming over to Tiantan Puhua, Dr. Han worked in the Department of Neurosurgery at the Alfred Hospital in Melbourne Australia.  Before this, he was Neurosurgeon and Researcher in the Department of Neurosurgery at the larger neighbor Tiantan Hospital. He was also a volunteer neurosurgeon at the No. 2 Red Hill Hospital in Inner Mongolia in China¡¯s far North.  Dr. Han received his medical degree from Shanghai Medical University, which is now a part of China¡¯s top science institution, Fudan University.  He received his PhD from Capital University of Medical Sciences in Beijing with a thesis related to nerve cell genetic makeup and their correlations with magnetic resonance imaging and pathology in gliomas.
